Vietnam’s image promoted in Italy
Lacquer paintings featuring the Vietnamese country and people are on display in Venice, Italy as part of the events during the “Vietnamese Days in Venice ” and marking 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic ties.
The event, which opened on July 9, is jointly organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the Venice authorities.
The exhibition showcases paintings drawn by renowned painters such as Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Nguyen Sang, Phan Ke An and Tran Van Can. The works help Italian art-lovers and international friends know more about the development of Vietnam’s lacquer arts.
In the framework of the Days, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) gave a concert in Fenice Theatre in Venice in the evening of July 9, with the performance of more than 60 Vietnamese artists.
As scheduled, VNSO will have other performances in Florence city on July 11 and at Quirinal Palace in Roma on July 12, at the invitation of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano.
