Seaplane Hai Au to Ha Long Bay opens to tourists
Hai Au Aviation launched its first aerial tour of Ha Long Bay, on Tuesday, allowing tourists to view landscapes of the world famous site from the height of 500-3,000 meters above sea-level.
Hai Au is the first airline to offer the service in Vietnam using two Cessna Grand Caravan seaplanes. The carrier will operate five to ten aerial tours to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi per day starting September 10.
The company also plans to offer three other daily flights for traveling between these two places starting tomorrow. These flights will take roughly 30 minutes and save time compared to a car ride that lasts three to four hours. The flights for viewing Ha Long Bay’s landscape will take more time, Hai Au said.
The carrier said it would expand seaplane services in Ho Chi Minh City, offering tours of destinations in the central and southern regions such as Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Can Tho, Con Dao, and Phu Quoc after the arrival of the third seaplane in late November.
Each seaplane can carry 12 passengers who each pay around VND5 million (US$235) for the Hanoi-Ha Long Bay tour.
