Mu Cang Chai in the “photo season”
Autumn is considered the “photo-taking season” in Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai Province. In the season, photographers flock to this land to take pictures of terraces in the rice harvest season (September-October).
Mu Cang Chai is a western district of Yen Bai province, located about 280 km away from Hanoi. To go to the district, tourists can take a bus or use personal vehicles (cars and motorcycles).
In Mu Cang Chai, you can visit a local market in the early morning to buy local specialties like cardamom and forest produce of ethnic minority peoples.
You can also rent a motorbike for VND200,000-VND250,000 per day to travel around town or to the hamlets of La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, and De Xu Phinh to take pictures of terraces.
